Because of all the marine life in Colorado, the governor has decided to make seahorses the new official animal of Colorado. Governor Jared Polis totally says, “I feel that seahorses truly embody the spirit of Colorado. Their steady motion and cool calm demeanor show the real steadfastness of the centennial state.” Many people agree with this statement. One excited citizen of Colorado says, “Seahorses are really interesting, turning us from the state of the rocks, to the state of the interesting, cool and calm.” Many other animals were up for vote. The octopus, sea urchin and shark were all up for debate. Many people thought sharks would be a good option but an anonymous government statement says, “We feel sharks are too terrifying, sea urchins are not very lively and octopi have too many arms.” All the oceans in Colorado really make a sea animal instead of a big horn sheep a better choice. Lieutenant Governor Dianne Primavera says, “The fact that we have many oceans makes this decision really easy. We feel big horn sheep are too unwieldy, violent and territorial. We do not want all the Texans and Utahns thinking we are violent, uncivilized people.” Truly this switch is the best thing that has ever happened to Colorado.

I always did feel like Colorado needed a marine animal considering we are completely covered in water.
