Home

Am I home?

I walk into my house

That is not my home

My friends say

Yes it is

You live here

But living in a place is not the same as home

Will we go back?

I ask my mother

Her beautiful sad eyes tell me

That I’m wishing for the impossible

Am I home?

I wake up from a dream

I look out the window

And start to cry

Because I’m thousands of miles

Away from that place I call

Home

Only dreams will ever take me back

To Home

Will I go back?

People say

If you have a dream more than once

It will come true

Is that true?

And if it is

Will I ever go back?

Home is not always where your body is

Says my mother

It where your soul will always live
