Chapter 7
Kalypso
I look down and immediately regret throwing that smoke bomb down. I meant to knock the girl out, and her alone, but I just didn’t focus, look, and realize the obvious. There is someone else down there, and they obviously don’t have magic. Great. Just Great. Now he’s going to die, and when magic girl wakes up, I can just cross my fingers and won’t get blasted to smithereens, and when I see my family again, they’re going to rub it in my face how they were right. You always jump straight into things without analyzing the situation. Ugh. So, instead of taking the chance, why not just save him, so I don’t get blasted to pieces, and get a different person out of this mess?
I hop down to the ground and look at the chaos. I can’t see the person, but I’ll take my chances. I blew up part of the dome (only a little) and slipped through. I held my breath, knowing I got 7 minutes to get the person and get out. I can’t see them. There comes my impatience again, running straight into a deadly situation without thinking. I keep looking around, and I realize the dome is much bigger than I remembered.
You would have noticed it if you had waited! My brother’s voice is ringing through my head.
Go away I tell it, him, me, I don’t know!!!
I realize I have less than a minute to get out, so I go back. But as the seconds tick by, I realize, I don’t know where the exit is. Oh my gosh, my family (My brother, specifically) was right. I was going to die because I could not wait an extra 30 seconds to debate if the situation was safe. Goodbye world, goodbye, cruel world.
“Are you coming or what?” says a voice.
I jerk up and follow the voice, and I’m out. Who was it? I think I’ve heard it before, but I’m too tired to think right now. I close my eyes and lay down, and my eyes snap open. I know who it is!
