Chapter 2
“Owww,” Emu said as she stuck out her tongue.
“Oh my gosh, Emu, are you okay!?”
“Yeah, I think so… but it left a big gray mark on me, whatever it was…”
Seven minutes later, the girls stumbled upon a small run-down cottage.
“Whoah!” the girls chanted in unison. Yumi stepped inside to be welcomed by some creaky floor.
“Come on, Emu.” Yumi said. A shiver ran down Emu’s spine like a blizzard had just come in.
“Fine.”
As Emu carefully stepped into the house, Yumi spotted a brown desk in a tiny room.
CRRRREEEAAAAAK.
The girls both spun around like a twisty slide. Yumi breathed out a sigh of relief. “It’s only the floor again, no spoocums or scarums…whatever that means…look, the Mandela effect is strong, okay?!”
Emu tip-toed there like she was on thin ice. Yumi checked to see if the lamp was still usable. Click!
“So…bright!” the girls said.
Emu stood on the wood floor while Yumi sat on the stool. The girls had explored the house about 17 times now, and even though they could’ve sworn they saw some figures, they were starting to get bored.
“I just wanna do something fun,” Yumi said.
“I don’t care what I do. I’m just so bored!” Emu muttered.
Yumi gasped as she said, “Maybe I can draw with that thing that you tripped on!”
Yumi ran back into the forest.
“So…she’s gonna make a pencil…” Emu said.
Yumi returned, and what she saw was…not even scary to her? Emu was being held in the air by a plant that was covering her mouth! Yumi ripped the plant apart as Emu fell to the floor with a loud THUD!
“I didn’t like that plant. Let’s try and finish up quickly,” Yumi said.
“Uh…uh….” Emu was traumatized. What the heck?! How is Yumi not more frightened by that thing…?
Emu quietly agreed and said that they should probably use an eraser and put the lead in some wood, as that’s how a pencil is obviously made. They grabbed some nearby paper and drew for about 5 hours.
“Aaaand, Done!”
They held one side of the creation, which was, by the way, a flip book, and flipped.
“Yeesss!” they cheered in unison.
Yumi and Emu worked so hard on it and were elated that they could see their hard work in. They made a flip book about a pencil that was fighting a tan and oval-like creature named Boredom. The girls giggled at the idea.
“This is the best thing that we’ve done yet!” Yumi exclaimed.
“YEAH! GO PENCIL, GO! GO, PENCIL, GO!… YEEEAAAHHH!!!” the girls chanted in unison, in weary voices, since it was 1:00 AM.
The flip book lasted only two minutes, but so much was able to happen in that small period of time.
The girls high-fived as the pencil defeated Boredom with a bucket that had a pig in it they named Wadles.
They found some more paper and just drew for about…6 more hours?! They drew as many things as their small little brains could think of, considering they hadn’t gotten a wink of sleep.
“Huff … .huff…”
The girls decided to cut out their small little creations and string them on a banner. There was so much stuff on it! They stood up and walked over to the clock…
“… It’s 7 am!” Yumi exclaimed.
The girls snagged their drawings and dashed out the door. They were overjoyed with their adventure and talked about their journey as they ran.
“I just loved the part when I ripped apart the plant!” Yumi said.
“Ah…uh…yeah…of…of course…Oh! I know! Who was your favorite character in the flip book?” Emu asked.
“Definitely Miku! Ya know, the one who gave the pencil to Wadles and then destroyed Boredom when she saw Pencil almost dead on the floor!” Yumi said
“Ooh, me too! She was my favorite for sure!” Emu laughed.
When the girls reached Yumi’s House, they collapsed on the bed as they hung up their creations.
“It’s perfect!” they said.
A note from the author:
