So you would think that a weird underground society would have some cool stuff in their lobby, but I guess they have to pass the occasional government inspection because it was all boring cream and beige. There was a receptionist sitting behind a glass wall at the counter. I walked up. “Name?” he asked without looking up. “Skylar,” I replied, studying him. He had close cropped blonde hair and hazel eyes set far apart on his face. “How do you spell that?” “S-K-Y-L-A-R.” This felt really weird given that I was basically applying for “superhero therapy” or whatever. He looked up at me. “Skylar?” I nodded. “You really shouldn’t be here.”
