So what is Kandi? Kandi is a certain type of bracelet making, typically used with pony beads. When making Kandi, you can make all kinds of different designs, like cuffs, necklaces, stars, worms, bones, keychains, and a whole lot more. Kandi is mainly worn and made by scene/kid core kids and ravers. It is very common when going to rave parties/festivals to trade Kandi with other people. How people usually trade is using the PLUR method. PLUR stands for peace, love, unity, and respect.
In order to do this method, you first find someone to trade with. Then, you both hold up a peace sign with your fingers touching. Then, you both hole up a half of a heart, making a full heart. Then, you put both hands together like you are high five-ing, but you keep them there. Then, interlock your fingers together. Once your fingers are interlocked, take turns putting a bracelet onto the other person’s arm.
Kandi is a great way to express yourself and your own style. There are so many ways to express yourself, not just with Kandi. Never be afraid to be yourself and like things that other people may think are weird. It’s always okay to be weird!
