We all know Ms. Lipplegoes is sweet, kind, and smart. Though, did you know that she has so much more going on in her life? She has very interesting aspects of her life involving what it’s like being so far from home, why she became a teacher, what she does outside of teaching, and so much more! In this article, you will learn more about these and other interesting facts about Ms. Lipplegoes!

Far From Home
Did you know that Ms. Lipplegoes is originally from Dalysford, Australia? She sure is far from home. She moved to Colorado with her boyfriend partly because she wanted a new start, and partly because she wanted to be with him. She says that there are several things that she loves and misses most from home. For one, she misses the food there; she says that the fish and chips back home were her favorite, as well as the Asian food. The breathtaking scenery was another big thing for her, and she misses being able to drive down to the ocean whenever she wants. Another big difference between Colorado and Australia is that in Australia, the start times and lunch times at school were a lot different. School used to start a lot later, and they had at least half an hour for lunch alone. Lastly and most importantly, she misses all her family and friends from home, especially her family.
Why Teaching?
Ms. Lipplegoes has many very fascinating reasons why she became a teacher. The first thing that really made her want to become a teacher started when she was young, and all the good teachers she had growing up. This caused her to already become fond of the idea, and she also loves being around kids. Eventually, this dream got her all the way to college! Though of course, she had to decide what type of teaching she wanted to do! She originally wanted and could’ve been a counselor, but especially because she had such great teachers growing up, she decided to be a teacher. Another hidden part of the story is the fact that she was originally planning on being a Health and Physical Education teacher and got her degrees in that, but changed when she got here to being a computer science teacher as well.

A Look into her Life
One of the greatest mysteries in life is what your teachers do outside of school. Well, here’s your answer.
Ms. Lipplegoes says, “There are so many things: I love hiking and camping, spending time in nature, going to sporting events, getting together with friends, watching movies, and traveling and exploring new places.”
Although there are plenty of people in her life, two she specifically mentioned were her boyfriend of 6 years, Paddy, and her Leopard gecko, Leo. Interestingly enough, she actually can’t have a leopard gecko in Australia “due to strict biosecurity laws,” so, amazingly, she is allowed to have him here!
In conclusion, sometimes there is so much more to a teacher’s backstory and life than you may ever know, and Ms. Lipplegoes is a great example of that! Now, if you see her in the hallways, give her a wave and ask how Leo’s doing.
