FORT COLLINS- Ms. Jackson, Mr. Walsh, and Ms. Stump are the amazing counselors at Webber Middle School. They deal with all sorts of things like feelings around family and the troubles with friends and so much more. All the counselors do so much for Webber Middle School and care for all the kids of Webber. Ms. Jackson is the 6th grade counselor, Mr. Walsh is the 7th grade counselor, and Ms. Stump is the 8th grade counselor.
The job of a counselor is a big job. There are many jobs within the job. They have to talk to students, print schedules, talk to parents, and so much more. Lots of people can interpret their jobs. Ms. Jackson’s interpretation of her job of a school counselor is that they must help students with social and emotional feelings so that they can do well in class.
Like teachers at Webber, the counselors work with lots and lots of students, but the difference is they do not have certain students at certain times, making them crazy busy. They have to meet with students for many reasons like family, friends, and academics. Also, they support students when feelings erupt or when anything overwhelming happens. They help support all the wonderful 6th, 7th, and 8th graders that need support at home, at school, or pretty much anywhere in life.
All the people want to be something for some reason and so do our counselors. Ms. Jackson wanted to become a counselor, because when she was in school, she was the student that needed a counselor. She wanted all the students like her to have the support they need. Mr. Walsh wanted to become a counselor, because he likes helping kids when they are having a difficult time in anything. Also, he loves the energy of students. Ms. Stump was a camp counselor in high school and wanted to learn to be a counselor for her career.
These amazing counselors do so much for the students of Webber Middle School. They work with so many students and communicate with all sorts of different people at Webber. We must be grateful and loving to all the counselors.
A NOTE FROM MS. JACKSON: We are looking for girls in all grades for the girls golf team!
