FORT COLLINS- Teacher Appreciation Week occurs every year on the first full week of May, which is May 5-9 this year. Teacher Appreciation Week is something that we should all celebrate. But why? First of all, teachers work tirelessly and dedicate hours to their career. When do you think they grade all those assignments? According to Moreland University, “Teacher Appreciation Week is a time to acknowledge the vital role teachers play in shaping the future and reaffirm support for the teaching profession. The dedicated week also provides a platform for various activities, events, and gestures of thanks to celebrate teachers’ impact on students’ lives and society.” Second, teachers deserve our appreciation because they care about their students and enjoy their job. “Teachers do all they can for their students,” says the National Education Association, which is just another way teachers should have our gratitude. Finally, your education is important for you to have opportunities in the future, so it’s important to appreciate your teachers. They help you live a good life! Those are some reasons why you should celebrate Teacher Appreciation Week!
