Miss Young, Club Adviser

Which grade are you in? I’m a 6th grade English and Connect teacher! 6th grade rules!

What’s your experience with The Webber Weekly? This is my second year. I’m back!

Why did you decide to join Newspaper Club? I had the opportunity to advise this amazing club. When I was in high school, I wrote for my school’s newspaper, The Knight Crier. I feel so grateful to be able to advise a space that meant so much to me as a student and helped me develop my confidence and identity as a writer!

What’s a fun fact about yourself? I recently did my first triathlon, and it was the 70.3 Ironman race in Boulder.

What’s your favorite book? This is such a hard question… Some of my favorites include Awe: The New Science of Everyday Wonder and How It Can Transform Your Life by Dacher Keltner and A Life in Light: Meditations on Impermanence by Mary Pipher. I also love poetry; I adore anything written by Mary Oliver.

What’s your favorite thing to write about? I love writing poetry, reflections about life, teaching and learning, entries about training, noticings of the world, and informational pieces.
