Proud
A Poem by Savanna White
Our world is dying. People watch like it’s a reality show to see what terrible thing has happened next. This is not a reality show, it better -it’s reality! But just by simply watching like it is, maybe the reality show is better instead.
Like a car crash, you watch, exclaim, and drive on. What’s the point of a car crash, if it doesn’t teach anybody anything?
Me and my sister are making up a better world of our own that we think is better then our real one. We don’t want to be like these people! We notice their mistakes and mean- irresponsible actions, and quickly work together to find some ‘solution’ without a consequence that would then need to be solved.
We do this to know and remember that our lives aren’t fully endangered- we’re safe with a solution. But then another problem comes up, and do a 13 and a 8 year old really need to be the ones to solve it?!
Do we really need to be the ones to solve our world? It should be all of our jobs! Not just to create our futures, but our future communities, too!
What about our future? What happens when we destroy it fully? Dose anybody seem to actually care? Enough to make our world PROUD maybe?
Maybe someday, our world will be grateful.
