Fort Collins- If you know Miss Young, you know she pronounces things a bit odd. Instead of calling H20 “water” like most human beings, she says “wooder.” She says it’s because she’s from the “Philly area,” but we think it’s an excuse. Students also recently learned that she pronounces “crayon,” like the thing you color with, as “crown.” I mean, come on, that one caused a lot of chaos and confusion! We were learning about a “crayon activist” in class, but since Miss Young called her a “crown activist,” we thought we were learning about some girl who was advocating for everyone to be able to wear a crown! After being called out all year for how she says “wooder,” Miss Young has announced that she will go to summer school to do some unlearning and relearning. We’re unsure whether that summer school will address how she says “crayon.” Stay tuned on this story, as details are developing.
